Founded in 1974 as a nonprofit organization, the Museum relies on the participation of its members. We are grateful to the individuals and families, the founders and corporations, and the communities that have provided the Museum with much needed support. Their generosity helps enhance our programs, services and collections. There are several opportunities to become a member of the Owls Head Transportation Museum.

Sponsor an Exhibit, Event, or Publication
Each year, new exhibits are planned. Companies may wish to sponsor a particular exhibit for the year. Sponsorship is variable depending upon the exhibit. Additionally, special events are held throughout the summer and fall months. By sponsoring an event, companies can receive recognition in paid media advertising for the event and have a booth at the event. Sponsorship for special events begins at $250. Companies may wish to sponsor one of the Museum's publications. Strut & Axle is sent to approximately 3,000 Museum members and volunteers. Sponsorship levels are $500 and $1,000 and include sponsorship recognition in one of four quarterly issues. Spark & Throttle is our volunteer newsletter and is sent to approximately 250 Museum volunteers. Sponsorship is $250 per issue. Other publications are also available for sponsorship.
Sponsor Free Tours for Maine School Groups

Sponsor a Museum Vehicle
A positive way to support the Museum is through the sponsorship of a vehicle. Your support will be earmarked toward the conservation and maintenance of a pioneer aircraft or automobile.
Donate Items, Gift Certificates, or Services to the Museum's Great Fall Fundraising Auction
Throughout the year, the Museum solicits donations of all types for its fall fundraising auction held each October. From a second vehicle that is no longer used to a piano no longer played, all items of value are appreciated. Over 600 items, certificates, and services are usually donated for this event in support of the Museum's programs and services.
Donate Items to the Museum's Collection
Consider the Museum a home for your pioneer ground or air vehicle, related artwork, memorabilia or library materials. Offers of donations are reviewed by the Museum's collections committee. There are also numerous opportunities to sponsor the acquisition of vehicles, artwork, and collections-related items.
Planned Giving Opportunities
There are several creative ways that you might support the Museum through estate planning. Please contact the Museum for more information.
